Whiskey lovers will especially want to take note that they serve drinks made with Tottori and Teeling. There aren't many rooftop bars in Dallas that come with an infinity pool, a fire pit, and awesome city views. At least not any like the Gallery Rooftop Lounge atop the artsy Canvas Hotel in the Cedars neighborhood downtown. Drinks to look out for include The Clover Club's namesake cocktail consisting of gin, egg whites, lemon juice and raspberry syrup. Nearly every night at The Rustic's outdoor patio features the best of live music from local and national acts. With over 40 beers on tap and a wide selection of cocktails, their kitchen also serves up locally sourced ingredients from vendors to provide customers with an authentic down-home Texas experience. The mastermind twin brothers Chris and Mark Beardon decided to make the entrance of the nightclub Truth & Alibi behind The Original Deep Ellum Candy Company, a tiny candy shop.

As clubbers enter the building, one by one they move towards the Willy Wonka-esque candy shop's 'secret' door which requires a password to enter and that takes them into a dark, long room. On one side, a bar, and on the other, a collection of couches and chairs that serve as tables. The candy shop front is meant to mirror the types of shops that covered up night clubs and bars during the prohibition era. While some Dallas nightclubs stay open late, Sue Ellen's actually opens early at 4pm on weekdays and 2pm on weekends.

If you're looking for a spot with loads of character, then City Tavern will be a perfect fit for you. This friendly neighborhood pub attracts a wide mix of people who come to chill out with a drink, chow down on good grub, play pool or watch a game.

Outside, there is a full-service bar and brick fireplace for when it's chilly out. The patio has also been updated to include a stage for live music every Friday and Saturday.

Uptown's The Rustic is one of the best bar and restaurants for al fresco dining, drinking, and live music. With one of the largest outdoor spaces in Dallas, the restaurant is a great spot to socially distance. Brunch and free live music are now back since restaurants have been able to open up to 50 percent.

Last summer, when restaurants were allowed to reopen at limited capacity, we began venturing out to local outdoor patios, where we felt a bit more comfortable amid the pandemic. More than a year into life with Covid-19, plenty of incredible new spots have entered the al fresco game, so we decided to create a running list of some of the best outdoor bars and patios our editors have visited. Irving and the DFW Metroplex are bursting at the seams with live music options. First and foremost, plan a night at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory. This incredible space—which is really three separate venues in one—hosts acts large and small from all over the country and provides fun, dancing, food, and drinks.

This cutting-edge venue converts from a smaller intimate theater of 2,500 seats to a 4,000-person capacity indoor theater and, amazingly, even opens up to an 8,000-person capacity open-air pavilion. You might know them as cigar lounges and strip clubs, and Jenkins wants them closed for the pandemic. In fact, Dr. Philip Huang, head of Dallas County's Health and Human Services Department, signed an order intended to close bars, night clubs, adult entertainment venues and cigar lounges, whether alcohol is served or not.

While the order went into effect July 24, some strip clubs and cigar lounges remain open. Jenkins says he's been told Health and Human Services is still receiving complaints about these businesses operating. Located on the ground floor of the Epic building in Deep Ellum, this sprawling restaurant and bar is adorned with hanging plants, a wine wall, and a patio that can be closed to the elements. The global menu ranges from a Korean-style Beef Rib to Sea Bass and Agnolotti Pasta, and the drinks are equally diverse.

Make your way through the wines-by-the-glass list or opt for a cocktail, like the Negroni-esque Italian Job or the Bye Bye Birdie served in a bird-shaped glass. The world-famous Station 4, located in Dallas' gayborhood, is an LGBTQ+ nightclub with 15 bars and 24,000 square feet of space. From Thursday to Sunday, the venue boogies down with DJ sets, light shows, and plenty of reasons to dance. Expect a packed club from the time they open until the lights come on , and if you're looking to experience what put this place on the map, don't miss one of its iconic drag shows . With over 17 drink stations to choose from, Station 4 has a bar for every vibe. Enjoy classic drinks and craft cocktails at the exclusive BigTop bar, cool off at the Granite Lounge with a birds-eye view of the dance floor below or enjoy the breeze at our large outdoor patio space.

Located at the heart of Dallas' nightlife and entertainment district, this hostel is surrounded by bars, clubs, restaurants and shops. It has brand new bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen and a comfortable common room. Two-stepping and dance lessons are offered every week on the Round-Up Saloon's massive hardwood dance floor. You can even stop by their premium Tequila Shack before bravely stepping up to the mic for some karaoke.

Lively trivia and drag nights are also big hits with the crowds, and the bar regularly hosts charitable events for the Dallas community. The AT&T Performing Arts Center is the hub of the Dallas arts and culture scene. The 10-acre complex houses multiple indoor and outdoor performance spaces, theaters and the Winspear Opera House. The spacious beer garden and industrial-style bar recently re-opened with Covid-19 protocols in place. Open for lunch and dinner, the restaurant serves soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, and more, along with their massive beer menu and hand-crafted cocktails. No matter where you are in Irving, you have an abundance of options to choose from to enjoy the nightlife. In the beautiful Las Colinas area, enjoy restaurants like The Blue Fish where you can wow your palate with Asian-inspired cuisine, such as sushi and sashimi. If you want to add a perfectly cooked ribeye to your plate, go grab a table at Cool River Cafe and enjoy the warm atmosphere and delicious steaks and seafood. At The Ranch, farm-to-table food, live music, and a lively atmosphere are perfect for date night or a night out with friends and colleagues.

After the sun goes down, downtown Dallas heats up with a dizzying array of nighttime diversions to keep night owls entertained until the wee hours. Unlike most places in this neighborhood, it's a relatively old house with modern amenities, and it feels like a true home away from home. With a great location, cosy beds, and a fantastic swimming pool, it's no wonder we love this Dallas hotel. Just north of the Deep Ellum neighbourhood, this property is close to the city's best pubs, clubs and restaurants.

This part of the city is packed with landmarks and attractions, as well as restaurants, bars, shops and clubs. It's where you'll find skyscrapers and government buildings, as well as the historic West End. Dallas has a bustling nightlife full of clubs, bars and a killer music scene, but it also has a strict rule of 21 at many of those places. Housed in a former tin factory, the space has a stylish and lively vibe to enjoy charcuterie, cheese, patatas bravas, and more. A favorite cocktail is the Guns & Rosés sangria, and the wine list is extensive. Don't miss the Jamón Serrano, manchego, and drunken goat cheeses, as well as the grilled hanger steak.

The restaurant also has chairs set out nearby in the parking lot for those who just want to enjoy a glass or two of wine. One of the most highly anticipated new bar-restaurants in town, thisthrowback spot from Kim Finch is housed in a historic gas station at the edge of Deep Ellum. A 2016 restoration brought the storied building that houses Chelsea Corner back to life, and included the addition of a charming backyard patio. The restaurant has 2,500 square feet of dog-friendly space and serves wine, beer, and craft cocktails. Dishes include new Lavarock Fajitas, Firecracker Shrimp, and BBQ Pork Chimichanga. When businesses were first shut down, he turned his lounge into a 24-hour, membership-only cigar club and barbershop.
